Dear Fall, Welcome Back. We’ve Missed You.

I’ve just had my first Pumpkin Spice Latte and Pumpkin Scone of the season. Fall, I am officially glad to have you back in my life.

It’s been a lonely and harsh world for the past 8 months. So cruel and so unfair. No sweaters to keep us warm at night, no seasonal lattes to help soothe the soul, and no beautiful colored leaves to ohhh and ahh at. No instead we have battled inches upon inches upon inches of snow, days where we were so hot, we just wished we could have pulled an Adam and Eve at work, and we went into battle and barely made it out alive with that ever so terrifying cicada breakout.

 How did we ever survive?!

But we’ve officially made it. As Taylor Swift would say, we are out of the woods. Fall has once again reunited with us, and oh man, does it feel so, taste so, and look so good.

Reunited and it feels so good. We can officially break out those sweaters we have been dying to wear and those boots that were made for walking – oh, that’s just what they do – in fall. Sorry, I get a little carried away with puns and songs that just seem to slide right in there. But anyway, the temperature is perfect. We can actually walk outside without getting frostbite (might be a little extreme) or without the humidity making us look like one of those clowns that they’ve been arresting all over the state. Like really, my hair has been a literal disaster all summer long, and don’t even get Duke started on his fur – let’s just say, it’s been challenging.

But now Mother Nature is officially on our side. My hair has been on fleek, Duke’s fur has been on point, and our outfits have been nothing short of fall-licious baby. Yes, I made up a word because of how excited I am. So break out those sweaters, those scarves, and those boots, and do a little happy jig in the street. After all, you won’t even break a sweat, so why not?!

Reunited and it tastes so good. Like seriously, everything about fall makes my tastebuds happy. Pumpkin Spice Lattes, Hazelnut Lattes, Pumpkin Scones, warm cinnamon rolls, Pumpkin Pie. I’m drooling right now, are you? Of course you are. I’ll admit, I fall into the total white girl category and am of course obsessed with all things pumpkin. There should really be rehab for people like me.  But I say, if you’re not on the pumpkin loving train, then maybe you should hop on the train that leads you to Canada, because you can’t be American. Even the Japanese get it. They are putting Pumpkin Spice drizzle on their fries. That sounds amazing!!

But really everyone, swimsuit season is over. Throw those beach bodies away. Be like a chipmunk and store as much Pumpkin as you possibly can in those cheeks. Maybe even bath in seasonal lattes. Might seem weird, but also seems pretty legit – I might be on to something here.

Reunited and it looks so good. Fall is so nice to look at. If it was dateable, I probably would have asked it out by now. But in all seriousness, it is like a painting that you can’t stop staring at. If you don’t look at the beautiful colors or soothing sky and smile, then you must be a robot. I mean , the leaves haven’t all started to change yet, but it sure is something to get excited about. Sometimes I walk outside, look at all the pretty colors starting to form, and just smile saying “Man, it’s a good day to be alive.” Everyday of fall is.

Oh fall, how we love you. Everything about you makes our hearts and souls happy.

We have missed you dearly, but now that you are back in our lives, please stay awhile. Don’t go breaking our hearts again.
